I started the Beauty Guru blog nine years ago to combine my love of writing and beauty and to share my favourite tips - many of which I have picked up during my career as a makeup artist.

There are cleansing oils, and then there’s THIS by @tailorskincare πŸ’™ Their chosen blend of oils, including nourishing hazelnut oil, has a completely luxurious feel on the skin.β € β € It dissolves makeup easily and leaves your skin feeling silky soft and moisturised. I have even used it as a face and body oil on dry skin and it is sensational! β € β € Face oils are great for all skin types and are far superior to cleanse with than harsh foaming cleansers that are highly irritating. Did you know that if your skin feels squeaky clean and tight after washing that you have over-cleansed? It should feel comfortable and neutral. β € β € I like to use mine with a warm cloth to remove makeup, and some nights I simply fall into bed without any additional skincare. I devoted twenty minutes of my morning (while baby slept) to self-care πŸ–€ I cleansed, exfoliated, applied my @dermalogicanz Vit C serum and my @paulaschoice BHA liquid, then applied a little bit of makeup. I can’t believe how much more energised and ready for the day I felt afterwards! Anyone else get caught up rushing around trying to do everything in the morning? Could be the after effect of my morning coffee tbh πŸ˜‚ β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” On another note, I have this crazy long fast-growing hair these days, something I put down to taking @adashiko Ultra collagen and a lack of heat-styling. My hair never used to grow. I’m actually amazed it has got to this length, especially after some postpartum loss. A beauty win πŸ™ŒπŸΌ
You guys, it’s happened. I’ve found my holy grail concealer πŸ™ŒπŸΌ I’ve long been a fan of NARS makeup, in particular their foundations and highlighters, so it’s no surprise I’m obsessed with the Soft Matte Complete Concealer. We’re talking seriously high coverage here - minus the cake. It’s lightweight and silky smooth with a gorgeous blurred, matte finish that never looks dry. Perfect all over the face, even under the eyes. I don’t know how the hell they formulated this, but it’s insane. I wear the shade Custard ✨
(Faux) tan for life πŸ™ŒπŸΌ Anyone else feel ten times hotter and slimmer with a tan? πŸ˜‚ I stopped sunbathing when I was 20 (I’m now 33), and I am so grateful I made that decision. Today I’ve applied @bondisands Extra Dark foam which I’m enjoying ✨ I also LOVE @lovingtanofficial in the 2hr Express Dark. Now to tackle the bed hair before I jump on a plane to sunnier shores tomorrow....

It has a gorgeous, lightweight texture that would suit nearly all skin types, and upon application my skin looked radiant and hydrated. The journey of pregnancy, birth, and motherhood has been the most exhilarating, crazy experience of my life to date! When you birth a baby you’re also giving birth to yourself as a mother, and an incomparable physical, mental, and spiritual transformation takes place. Baby girl is due in December and I am beyond excited. My current holy grail brow products πŸ–€ I only recently started using @benefitcosmetics Brow Wiz after picking one up for my kit in Sephora while I was overseas. It never made it to my professional kit as I couldn't resist keeping it for myself! It's the ultimate tinted brow gel - and not only that, it adds volume to the brow hairs πŸ™ŒπŸΌ I apply mine before my brow pencil as a base, and after to set. Highly recommended and perfect for days when you need light definition but can't be bothered filling in your brows. Brow Wiz by @anastasiabeverlyhills cannot be beaten for its precise tip, excellent colour range, and beautiful result. Keep it soft or go all out and create a super bold brow.
